Last night's game was a disgrace. Tonight's was just sad. I'm too bummed/sickened to even type.

Maureen - "biblical" is the same word I used when talking to my son about the swarm. I'm totally bummed about the game. Too bad Joba couldn't handle the bugs, but wow...they were ALL OVER HIM. Face, neck, hat...and he couldn't twitch or anything or he would have balked. Just unbelievable. Maintain some positive energy...it helps. (You looked great tonight, by the way.) Take care.

Yeah, she does look kind of 'extra' hot in this video, but enough of that ....

This team is a fucking disgrace. Sorry, but it's a fucking disgrace. I'm just sick and all goddamn tired of first-round exits against teams that play with 10x the passion, energy, fire and intelligence.

Chamberlain, you've been a wonderful story this year, but you bit the big one tonight. You bit it hard and left teeth marks. I don't care if you were pitching in Vietnam -- get the job done. However, Torre should've had the sense to go to his closer with two outs like Terry Francona did tonight in Boston. He didn't and that's why he lost while the Red Sox are taking another steaming shit all over the Angels en route to another World Series.

Sorry, but Cashman and Torre have to go. I respect what Cashman is doing, but he's had enough time to build a winner with unlimited resources and hasn't even come close. He ignored the gaping hole at first base and in the rotation this year and did nothing to improve the bullpen at the deadline. Hence, we get that piece of Vizcaino -- another one of his brilliant moves -- flushing tonight's game.

Torre is 3-13 in his last 16 playoff games. Come on! No one gets to keep their job with that record of futility. Why should he? How did he survive 2004? Why can't A-Rod clear his head and stop being a nutjob? Why do I keep doing this to myself?!

I think that's the first time we heard you cuss. That was by far the strangest thing I've seen happen at a game.

It's all up to Roger dodger now.

"Bugs took over Jacobs Field and had a particular preference for Joba Chamberlain. The rookie right-hander was bothered by the little buggers in his ears, his eyes, all over his hat and neck.

But when Cleveland starter Fausto Carmona took the mound, he never stepped off the rubber. He was tougher than the gnats.

"I think that was my favorite part of the game," Garko said. "Fausto didn't step off the mound, because he's tough. That's what you've got to be here: Tough. Fausto didn't flinch.

"There were guys acting like those were bullets flying around their heads. They're not bullets. They're just bugs. This is the big leagues."

Jeter and A-Rod looked like shadow boxers. Who kills the spiders at home? Mrs. A-Rod? Rodriguez swung at the bugs around his head and missed those, too."

pettitte gave us the quality start we wanted/needed. The bugs were awful, but that is still NO EXCUSE for a man named Alex Rodriguez and his 26 mil.

    We will win on Sunday.

You can't blame Arod for anything. Sure he isn't getting any hits, but is anyone? 3 of our 4 runs came on hrs by non power hitters. We're batting well under 0.200 as a team.

And, if there was no Arod during the regular season we wouldn't be watching Yankee playoff baseball right now no matter how painful it is to watch. Do you want to go the route of the Chargers and get rid of a guy who is great in the regular season but doesn't have much postseason success? Yeah, bring in someone else who won't get it done in the regular season so we won't see any playoffs since we take the first couple months of the season off as it is, and we'll miss the playoffs by a few games.

I know it's becoming frustrating all these years as we are the Atlanta Braves of this decade, but I'm sick and tired of all the Arod bashing. But he makes the most money! He deserves all the blame! he's not a true Yankee! Boo!

Dont worry crankees fans its knat your fault you lost last night but what could the excuse be for the 12-3 beatdown you recieved the night before? Were there flies we could not see or could it have been a pack of wild zebras in the out field?? Looks like ill have to look forward to cleveland in the next round

Just forfeit the game and save yourselves and us fans the embarrassment. This team is a joke.

Enough of Torre. If this fucker can't get this team to win then he can go fuck himself. Guy is like Pat Riley. Can win with great talent, but if is not avaliable then he's useless.

Both those games were in Cleveland, so it's not that bad. The breaks of the game usually even up over time. As an Indians fan, I'm happy about the win, but also neurotic enough to expect Grady Sizemore to get attacked by rats in NYC to even things up, ha. I'm not sure yet that we can win in NYC; we'll find out soon enough.

Yet another year Daddy Warbucks can't buy a World Series. I love hearing all the disappointed Yankees fan try to make sense of their failure they believe they're entitled to by the money they spent.

Hey, give AROD 30 -40 Mil, that'll solve your problems. See you at our parade in Boston?

Don't worry YC, I had a premonition. The Yankees are going to win the next two games and send the series back to Cleveland. (Come by my seats in Section 2 tomorrow and say hello.)

This series is going to be a microcosm for the entire year, in which the Yankees snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

And May the Baseball Gods Smite Every Red Sox fans who weareth the scarlett letter 'B' on his head.

Love the irony of Red Sox fans disparaging the Yankee organization for profligacy when they spent like gluttons this past off-season because Henry the Fraud, Epstein the Boy Blunder, and Larry Hit Man Lucchino cried after missing the playoffs. The Three Stooges spend a $100 million for Douche-K, $70 million for Nancy Drew, and another $36 million for a shortstop who can neither field nor hit and they accuse the Yankee organization of reckless, improvident spending a championship.

Why do Red Sux fans have such low IQ? It's the in-breeding. What else do you expect from people who are so provincial.

And yet they still ended up in first? What does that say about cashman?

And Douche-K? Yankee fans, always so classy.

Even us Red Sox fans are NOT prepared to write the Yankees off. Anyone who does so has no sense of history or knowledge of how the Yankees have erased these types of deficits in the past.

As well, I am curious as to how Yankees fans are responding to the reports coming out of ESPN that Joe Torre will be fired unless the Yankees come back and beat the Indians. Personally, I have always thought that Torre is one of the classiest guys in the sport, and it would be a disgrace if he were fired in this fashion.

    CLEVELAND

The Cleveland Indians roll in ALDS and the state of annihilation is so total it is to marvel.

A team whose 3b and SS cost more than the entire Indians roster (?!) set a benchmark for failure.

You just got took out by the Tribe, NY...and stay out!

The Indians beat the Yankees in every phase at every turn. But the hubris of the New York defeat in their attitude of cocky superiority shows that the Yankees can't compete. They maintained the smugness even after they were handed their hearts in Game One, and lost Game 2 in extra innings scoring 1 run. The national (NY) media put out an unbelievable haze to portray the Indians as a trifle compared to the NY juggernaut. The Yankees elbowed their way into the series, while Cleveland won its division, the Central-- the toughest division and the source of the last AL Champions, and the World Series winning White Sox (who finished in last place-- but who cares). The Indians checkmated Detroit by winning the first seven of its meetings and sweeping the last series. They also beat Cy Young winner Santana every time they faced the Twins (4 or was it 5 times).

The Indians have been on the rise for the last three years, after a late season run that set records for season series sweeps and win totals for the last months of the year. The big boys in the East were just able to close the door on them then. They retooled last year, bringing in great new talent, keeping pace as Hafner was injured with Garko's advent, keeping faith in Blake, even as they brought in top prospect Andy Marte and formulating a pitching staff that can dominate any lineup.

The Yankee's answer was showing Gary Sheffield the door, and getting Roger Clemens back... sorry about the pulled ego R man.

They are able to plow through their schedule and get to the post-season, of course though they didn't win the East this year.

But the reason A- Hole and their much vaunted hitters return to mortality in the post-season... just like their meltdown against Detroit-- is that they aren't facing the top shelf pitching then, and that is what the Indians have.

But blame the Boss for this one, skankies: Steinbrenner's ultimatum made it impossible for Torre not to second guess himself. Win or you're fired... Its laughable to think of Shapiro telling Wedge something that bombastic.

So here is Clemens getting rocked (predictably-- where was that story?) and the Yankees taxing their flawed bullpen to get one win. That was not that impressive though since old Trot in right gave back at least two runs on his pass ball (though he Homered and doubled in runs too). The first momentum NY got was that chicken shat run set up by the swinging bunt.

Chamberlain gets outs (I'll always remeber his game face as spewing gnats as he chucked wild pitches) but tired pithcers can't be effective.

So Torre pulls Mussina and goes back to his "Ace" on three days rest.

HR/ lead off-- Sizemore... 4 runs later Mussina, NY's version of Paul Byrd relieves effectively but the Yankees can't keep pace. Chamberlain is unavailable and (despite catcher's interference from Posada on Hafner) the Indians rally against the back end of their pen.

Eric Wedge? We have a 2-1 lead. Paul Byrd starts as usual, Kelley Shoppach catches him as per usual. Borowski saves (despite Betancourt being lights out in 8th). That's our team, and New York couldn't stop us.

That's loyalty. That's thinking straight under pressure, that's an under-rated but brilliant pitcher, Paul Byrd with a 4 run lead doing what he does, pitching to win. And that's no fluke.
